Tehran has reportedly closed the Strait of Hormuz to shipping from non-friendly nations

Several tankers off the coasts of Iraq and Kuwait, along with a major port in Oman, are reportedly in flames as the US-Israeli military campaign against Iran continues to send shockwaves across global energy markets.

At least two oil tankers have been targeted in separate attacks early Thursday, while Oman’s Salalah port continued to burn into the night. One vessel near Iraq’s Umm Qasr port was allegedly hit by an explosive drone boat, while another suffered an explosion off the Kuwaiti coast.

President Donald Trump has declared the US has “virtually destroyed Iran,” but stated he does not want to end the campaign early and needs to “finish the job.”

Tehran, in turn, has claimed that its military has managed to overwhelm enemy air defenses, making Israel and US military installations in the Middle East more vulnerable.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said its latest wave of retaliatory strikes was coordinated with Hezbollah. In response, Israel has continued striking Lebanon, sometimes toppling entire buildings, and killing at least 634 over the past ten days, according to the local health ministry.
