Dubai Police honours social media influencers for their contribution at Hemaya 2018

DUBAI, 16th May, 2018 (WAM) -- On behalf of Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Major General Mohammed Saeed Al-Marri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of Community Happiness and Logistics, honoured a number of social media influencers for their contribution to the success of the 13th International Forum on Drug Issues "Hemaya", which was organised by the Department of International Training Service from 12th to 13th March 2018.

He praised their media efforts and cooperation with the Dubai Police General Headquarters through the conferences and forums held by the Dubai Police every year and their active participation in the Hemaya Forum, stressing the importance of their role in guiding and protecting the society and its values and traditions.

Al-Marri stressed that the media role can be either positive or negative. Therefore, "We must take positive measures that preserve the generations and limit the crime and the negative behaviours that could affect us in social communication from time to time."

For his part, Lt. Col. Dr. Abdurrahman Sharaf Al Ma'amari, Director of the International Training Service, praised the effectiveness of the social networking channels and the impact of this phenomenon on the media, which affects the society either negatively or positively.
